You will be receiving an invitation from Aetna within 24 hours or the next business day.

Here are some tips to help you through the process:

Email will come from AetnaMedicare@aetna.com
Subject Line: “You have been invited to contract with Aetna Medicare!”

  • Email only requires one click to accept the invitation. If you go back to the email later and click again you will get an error message.
  • If you need to return at a later time, go directly to Producer World and log in.

  • You may choose the “Quick Save” option to save your progress and exit the system.
  • Contracting expires in 30 days. If you don’t complete the contracting process in that timeframe you will be required to start over.
  • If at any time during the process you receive an error, please call the number which you will see on the screen.
  • Once the contract is completed and submitted you will be able to go back to Producer World to check the status, i.e. Certification Validation, Awaiting Background Report, etc.
  • You have 90 days from the start of contracting to complete certifications. To certify to sell go to https://aetna.cmpsystem.com/ .
  • After the contract is processed you will receive one of the following email notifications:
    • “Your Aetna Medicare contract has been approved” – NOTE: This does not confirm a Ready-To-Sell status.
    • “Your Aetna Medicare contract has been rejected”, please contact Aetna for more information or to appeal.
  • You are not Ready to Sell until you receive an email notification which specifically states you are Ready to Sell.
  • Once you are Ready to Sell you will use your NPN for your writing number.
